TRADITIONAL CRETAN VILLAGE ACTIVITIES

Depart from hotel with a your private airconditioned coach & a tour guide. You will spend your day in a traditional Cretan Village only 15 minutes drive from Herakleion. There we have various workshops such as the bellow , where you will be able to choose for any of the bellow or even a combination of 2. We provide all the materials that you will need for each activity and at the end you will be able to take back home what you have prepared .

Will be able to do various activities such as:

1. Komboloe

• After a short presentation of the history of komboloe on power point, our guests make their own komboloe with the pearls we provide to them. At the end they keep their creation as souvenir.
• The group is accompanied by an English speaking member of our personnel dressed in traditional uniform.

2. Weaving Art

The ancient art of weaving.  Preparing the strings and making the fabrics of the house.  An interesting process of learning the basic steps.

This program has the following steps:

1. We watch the wool production in a slides presentation
2. We talk about the symbols (designs) on the fabrics
3. We use real weaving looms to practice the whole process

At the end all the guests have a piece of fabric as souvenir.

3. Mosaics
   

• Niki Lironi, the mosaics’ creator, informs the visitors of this ancient art of mosaics and then they try themselves to create their own sample.

4. Cretan & Greek Dances

• A professional teacher of dances will show to the guests the more popular dances of Crete and Greece. At the end our guests have a copy of CD with greek and cretan music.
• The group is accompanied by an English speaking member of our personnel dressed in traditional uniform.

5. Guided Tour in the museum

• It is always a must to visit the museum in Arolithos and see the past life of Crete in a very rich exhibition of items of the 19^th & 20^th There are several points of interaction and tasting.
• The group is accompanied by an English speaking member of our personnel dressed in traditional uniform.
• Duration: 2hrs (1hr & 30 min activity &30 min museum visit)
• Maximum no of participants: 100

6. Museum Simple Visit

• It is always a must to visit the museum in Arolithos and see the past life of Crete in a very rich exhibition of items of the 19^th & 20^th Treatment with raki raisins and nuts is included.
